WORTHINGTON — Another poor shooting night doomed the Ridgewater basketball team at Minnesota West on Wednesday.

The Warriors shot just 27 percent from the floor and fell to the Bluejays 83-58 in a MCAC South Division game.

“It’s frustrating,” said Warriors head coach Bob Knutson. “The last six minutes of the game, we played hard. But when the ball doesn’t fall through the rim it seems like we lose confidence.”

The Warriors fell to 1-2 in the division and 7-9 overall while the Bluejays improved to 2-1 and 9-6 overall. Ridgewater plays Riverland at 3 p.m. Saturday in Willmar.

The Warriors couldn’t generate a consistent attack and it didn’t hurt that one of the team’s top players, Terrance Lockett, missed the game while suffering from the flu.

Zak Pendleton hit three 3-point shots and led the team with 15 points, and Neil Helgeson had 13. Beau Herrig scored 10 points and led the Warriors with 9 rebounds.

Minnesota West had three players score in double figures, led by Tyler Aquallo with 20 points. Orie Brown had 19 points. Luke Roddy scored 15.
