WORTHINGTON -- The Ridgewater men's basketball team keeps losing players, which makes it even more difficult for the undermanned Warriors to keep from losing games.

The Warriors suited up just eight players in its 94-73 loss to Minnesota West on Saturday, then lost one of those players in the first half.

Little wonder the Warriors have lost 11 straight and are 0-9 in the MCAC Southern Division and 6-17 overall. They last won Jan. 6 over Itasca.

The Warriors played well early, shooting 50 percent in the first half on Saturday. And they still trailed by 20 at the break, 53-33.

"We've been shooting the ball better, but the teams we're playing, they're so talented," said Ridgewater head coach Bob Knutson. "The whole league is the best I've seen it. We're down to seven players so we have to play our butts off."

Ridgewater lost several players early in the new year to a lack of classroom progress and family issues. On Wednesday against Rochester, Warriors starting post player Jordan Schwarz when he collided head-to-head with a Rochester player. Schwarz needed 13 stitches and also suffered a concussion that could keep him out of action for two weeks.

On Saturday, forward Zach Henning injured his arm in the first half and had to sit, leaving the Warriors with seven healthy players.

Complicating matters even more, two Warriors -- Jake Ruhland and Cody Warner -- fouled out.

"We were tired, but our guys didn't quit," Knutson said.

Ridgewater had five players score in double figures, led by Zak Pendleton and Warner with 15 points apiece. Neil Helgeson scored 13 points and Jamie Boonstra and Tyler Pendleton both scored 10.
