Men's college basketball: Central Lakes outlasts Ridgewater

BRAINERD — Central Lakes avenged a one-point loss to Ridgewater by having five players score in double figures in its 76-70 win Friday at the Central Lakes Invite.
The Warriors (5-5) edged the Raiders (4-5) 70-69 on a Zak Pendleton in the game’s closing seconds last Saturday in Willmar.
Central Lakes led by as much as 10 Friday before Ridgewater would cut it to a two-possession game, but the Raiders made 17 more free throws than the visitors.
BBE graduate Kevin Kuefler had 14 points for Central Lakes. Bryan Gichaba led the team with 18 points.
After missing five games with mono, Jake Rambow returned for the Warriors and drained four 3-pointers en route to scoring a game-high 20 points. The Warriors were 11-for-25 from beyond the arc.
Melvin Kromah added 16 points, Pendleton 11 and Neil Helgeson 10.
Ridgewater plays Rainy River today at 2 p.m. in the final day of the tourney.
