BRAINERD — Shooting 51 percent and overcoming a short bench (2 reserves), the Ridgewater College Warriors tipped the Central Lakes Raiders 74-70 on Friday evening.

Kiree Robinson hit a three-pointer to break a tie late in the game and give the visitors the lead for good. Joe Leuze, DeJuan Curry and Melvin Kroman each came up with a steal to thwart the Raiders in the final minute.

The Warriors’ lean line-up is due to ankle injuries and flu.

“Everybody stepped up against their tall lineup,” said Warriors coach Bob Knutson. “It was just a lot of hustle and heart against a very talented opponent.”

Robinson finished with 23 points (5 of 10 on 3-pointers) followed by Kromah with 16, Beau Herrig 12 and Curry 10.

Ridgewater plays a doubleheader Saturday vs. Rainy River, at Brainerd, starting with the Lady Warriors at noon.
