Merald Kattevold Sept. 11, 1935 - Jan. 31, 2009

GRANITE FALLS -- Merald Kattevold, 73, of Granite Falls, died Saturday at Granite Falls Manor.

The services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Wang Lutheran Church in rural Maynard. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military honors provided by the Montevideo Honor Guard.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the Wing-Bain Funeral Home in Granite Falls and for one hour prior to services at the church.

He was born Sept. 11, 1935, in Maynard to Ole and Marit (Boe) Kattevold. He served in the Army for four years before returning home to farm. He was a member of the Wang Lutheran Church, the Minnesota Valley Antique Farm Power & Machinery Association and VFW Post 380 in Montevideo.

He is survived by his wife: Agnes (Brill) Kattevold; his children: Alan (and Jennifer) Kattevold of Maynard, Deb (and Steve) Gunderson of Norcross, Sue (and Jerry) Stanaway of New Hope, David (and Sol) Goschey of Anoka, Rosy (and Mike) Conboy of Clara City, Jeffrey (and Sherry) Goschey of Maynard, Rick (and Ann) Goschey of Anoka, Mary (and Terry) Kjersten of Sacred Heart, Kathy (and Corrie) Swenson of Clara City, Gail (and Kim) Muller of Willmar and Brad (and Judy) Lee, Curtis (and Deb) Lee and Ralph (and Deb) Lee, all of Maynard; 31 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers.
