Michael E. Baune

BIRD ISLAND -- Michael E. Baune, 60, of Olivia died Wednesday at the RenVilla Nursing Home in Renville.
The service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bird Island. Burial will be in St. Catherine's Cemetery in Redwood Falls.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Dirks-Blem Funeral Home in Olivia with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials are preferred.
He was born Jan. 5, 1949, in Springfield to Arnold and Maxine (Lefteau) Baune. He graduated from Wabasso High School and then worked at a music store in Redwood Falls. He served in the National Guard for several years.
He married Patricia Beasley on April 25, 1970. They lived in Wabasso where he farmed with his father. They lived for three years in California, in Iowa for one year and then in Zumbrota for three years. He sold machinery for most of his career. In 1993, they moved to Olivia where he worked for Kibble Equipment in Bird Island and Redwood Falls and later sold insurance for Catholic Aid.
He is survived by three daughters: Jennifer (and Kyle) Scott of Fort Morgan, Colo., Shannon (and Luke) Ronningen of Zumbrota and Sarah Baune of Olivia; four grandchildren; one stepgranddaughter; his mother of Rochester; and siblings: Jeannette (and Bill) Rauch of North Carolina, David (and Brenda) Baune of Rochester, Tom (and Ginger) Baune of Willmar, Jeff Baune of Minneapolis, and Maureen (and Doug) Craft of Grand Meadow.
He was preceded in death by his wife on May 22 and his father.
