Mildred Esther Jordin
Mildred Esther Jordin, 84, of Spicer, died Thursday, March 27, at Adrian Care Center, in Adrian. Funeral service will be at 11 am on Monday, March 31, at Faith Lutheran Church, in Spicer. A visitation will be from 4-6 pm Sunday, March 30 at Johnson Funeral Home, in New London, and continue one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will be at Spicer City Cemetery.
Mildred was born on October 2, 1929 to Thorvald and Karoline (Langord) Arnesen in Spicer. She was baptized at her home in October, 1929. Mildred was confirmed in the Lutheran Faith in 1943. She attended Spicer grade school before going to Willmar High School for a year. On May 31, 1958, Mildred married Noel Jordin. Together they lived on a small farm North of Spicer, where they lived in their house for the majority of her life. Mildred worked at Jennie-O for a number of years before she became a full time care taker for her parents. She also helped out on the farm. She enjoyed driving tractor, mowing the lawn and helping out in every aspect of the farm. Mildred loved milking cows until she was no longer able to. She was active in church as a Sunday school teacher and also a member of the Lutheran Brotherhood. She was also a member of the local Alzheimer's group, and the Good Neighbors Club. Mildred will always be known for her loving personality, hard work ethic and her generosity to help others. Mildred and Noel continued to love each other through the hard time and now they are rejoicing in heaven.
She is survived by her daughter, Carol Kor (friend Steve) of Luverne, two grandchildren: LaRae (Ryan) Koenen and Eric Kor; sisters-in-law, MaryAnn Sogge, Irma Arnesen, Mary Arnesen; and her much loved nieces, nephews and friends.
Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Noel, parents, siblings: Henry Arnesen, Ted (Harriet) Arnesen, Marion (Henry) Monson, Casper (Mercedes) Arnesen, Oscar (Lorena) Arneson, Rolf Arnesen, Helen (Ray) Bjork, Carl Arnesen; sisters-in-law, Vivian (Orlynn) Mankell, Marie Arnesen; brother-in-law, Allan Sogge; and nephews: Donald Sogge, and David Arnesen.
