Milton was born on January 12, 1927 in Hawick, MN. He was the only child of Frank and Emma (Kalkbrenner) Jones. Milton married Marian Hintz on June 11, 1949 at St. John Lutheran Church in Atwater. Following their marriage they farmed south of Lake Koronis with Milton’s parents, and were blessed with four children and more than 63 years of marriage.

Milton was baptized at Roseville Methodist Church in Hawick and later confirmed his faith at St. John Lutheran Church in Atwater where he was a member and served as trustee, the family night committee, and participated with church softball league.

Milton was a lifelong farmer who loved spending time with family. He loved John Deere machinery, fishing especially with cane poles, pheasant hunting, game shows, Westerns, Hogan’s Heroes, and James Bond movies (but only when Marian wasn’t around). He was a romantic at heart who loved to play matchmaker for his grandchildren. His infectious personality and sense of humor brought smiles and laughter wherever he went. Milton and Marian enjoyed traveling especially their trips to Alaska and Hawaii. They left the farm in 2010 for assisted living facilities in Glencoe.

Milton spent his final years as he had spent so many previous years: at Marian’s side.

Milton is survived by his wife, Marian; his daughter, Rose (Les) Overman of Iona, Minnesota; his sons, Neal (Inez) of Paynesville; Randy (Mavis) of Winsted, Minnesota; his daughter-in-law, Connie of Cottage Grove, Minnesota; 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his son, Timothy on March 22, 2010.
