Minn. business filings up four months in a row
ST. PAUL - Secretary of State Mark Ritchie announced today that new business filings for 2012 are up for the fourth straight month.
The figures are compared to the same time for the previous year.
"This continued growth in new business filings is more good economic news for all Minnesotans," said Ritchie in a press release. "We are on track for a near record year."
Overall new business filings for the month of April show a 23 percent increase when compared to the previous year.
Limited Liability Company filings, which are the most common legal structures for new business in Minnesota, increased by almost 22 percent over the same period a year ago.
