Minnie Bjork Dec. 16, 1912 - Dec. 31, 2008
WILLMAR -- Minnie Bena Bjork, 96, of Willmar, died Wednesday at Bethesda Heritage Center in Willmar.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar. Burial will be in Solomon Lake Cemetery, rural Willmar.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials are preferred.
She was born Dec. 16, 1912, in Renville County to Jalla and Jennie (DeVries) Ruter. She went to school until the 8th grade and then stayed home to help on the farm.
On April 29, 1933, she married Clifford Bjork. Years ago, she worked part time as a cook in North Minneapolis. She also worked at Powell Candy Company, sewed army clothes at Munsingwear, worked at a Gedney Pickle processing plant and painted the interiors of houses.
She attended Willmar Gospel Hall. She spent the last years of her life at Bethesda Heritage Center in Willmar.
She is survived by her two grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; siblings: Martha Reigstad of Willmar, Rosie (and Duaine) Nelson of New London, Victoria (and Albert) Eisenbeisz of Vero Beach, Fla., Jeraldine Pates of Willmar, Henry Ruter of Willmar, Martin (and Gladys) Ruter of Hanover and Lewis Ruter of Willmar.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1997; her daughter: Cynthia in 1996; two brothers; and three sisters.
