BIRD ISLAND -- Drivers and passengers of three vehicles suffered only minor injuries after a weather-related crash around 12:45 p.m. Sunday along U.S. Highway 212 west of Bird Island.

According to the State Patrol, Jeffery Stadther, 45, of Bird Island, was driving a 2008 Nissan Titan that came upon a slower vehicle, swerved into the westbound lane and was struck by a 1994 Cadillac driven by Jeremy Krienke, 34, of Andover.

A third vehicle, a 2004 Saturn driven by Jamie Asp, 22, of Burnsville, then struck the Cadillac. Asp was not hurt, according to the report.

Stadther and two passengers in his vehicle and Krienke and a passenger in his vehicle were taken to Renville County Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
