Minor injuries in two rollover crashes east of Dawson

DAWSON -- A Big Lake man and a family from Missouri sustained minor or no injuries when their vehicle rolled in two separate incidents Tuesday afternoon east of Dawson.

According to the State Patrol, Dean D. Tilly, 62, of Big Lake was westbound on Highway 212, hit an icy patch and lost control of his 2000 Chevy Tahoe, which went into the ditch and rolled onto its side. He was taken to Dawson Hospital and treated and released. That crash happened around 3:37 p.m.

Around 4 p.m., the Patrol was called to another rollover about a mile away. A passenger car, no make or model reported, was driven by Joel C. Seppala, 30 of Weston, Mo. Similarly, the car hit an icy patch, the driver lost control and the vehicle entered the ditch and rolled onto its roof. Three passengers, Melissa Seppala, 29, Payton Seppala, 5, and Katelyn Seppala, less than 1 year of age, were taken to the Dawson Hospital to be check over. No apparent injuries were reported.
