MLB Draft: Twins tab former Stinger Tillery


WILLMAR — Seven more Willmar Stingers alumni and one player off the current roster were selected on the third day of the 2014 MLB draft on Saturday.

Florida Gulf Coast’s Zack Tillery became the first former Stinger to ever be drafted by the Minnesota Twins, going in the 13th round.

Later in the 13th, Kentucky’s Max Kuhn went to the Oakland Athletics.

The Chicago White Sox took Utah’s Tanner Banks and the Tampa Bay Rays took St. Louis’ Alec Sole in the 18th round.
