Minnesota Department of Transportation officials earlier today had predicted closures would not be forthcoming, but plows were pulled since early this evening and conditions have continued to deteriorate. The MnDOT website for road and travel conditions – www.511mn.org – now lists several closures in the region to due to blowing snow and reduced visibility.

U.S. Highway 212 is closed from after Renville County Road 6 at Renville to Minnesota Highway 4 at Hector. Minnesota Highway 19 is listed closed from after Redwood County Road 30 at Vesta to Minnesota Highway 4 past Fairfax.

A long stretch of U.S. Highway 71 is listed closed from Minnesota Highway 7 – an intersection south of Willmar and near Blomkest often referred to as Harry’s Corner – all the way south to Minnesota Highway 60 at Windom.
