WILLMAR -- Daniel Amor, 44, of Montevideo, made his first appearance Thursday on six felony charges of first- and second-degree criminal sexual conduct for allegedly molesting a girl over a period of three years.
Unconditional bail was set at $100,000, with conditional bail at $10,000. His next appearance in Kandiyohi County District Court is May 11.
According to the complaint, a Willmar police detective received a report April 14 from Ka-ndiyohi Co-unty Family Services th-at a now 21-year-old woman reported sexual abuse by Amor when she was younger.
The woman said she had never told anyone about the abuse, but that she was concerned for other girls in the home who had contact with Amor.
In an April 20 interview, the woman told the detective she was molested by Amor when she was 12 to 15 years of age, at a home in Willmar. She had kept it secret, blamed herself and thought if she kept quiet, the other girls would be OK.
The woman said Amor told her he was just trying to teach her about the "birds and the bees," safe sex and what boys would do to please her so that she could tell them not to. The molestation included sexual touching and digital penetration, according to the complaint.
