MONTEVIDEO — The city of Montevideo will receive an engineering analysis of the heating and cooling system in City Hall. An upgrade to the system is among three capital improvement projects under consideration.

Council members approved a $2,500 low bid by Duffy Engineering, of St. Cloud, to analyze the City Hall heating and cooling systems, according to City Manager Steve Jones.

The action at Monday’s meeting is part of an effort to assess whether to move forward on three proposed capital improvement projects. The city is considering the possibility of acquiring property and constructing a new fire hall, replacing the roof on the public works building, and upgrading the heating, ventilation and air-conditioning system in the City Hall.

The fire hall project represents the most costly of the potential projects, with an estimated price tag at more than $2.5 million.
