Montevideo, Minn., woman dead in rollover crash, fire

DEGRAFF -- A 70-year-old Montevideo woman was dead when emergency responders arrived at the scene of a one-vehicle rollover crash Thursday morning on Chippewa County Road 4 about two miles north of State Highway 40.

According to the Chippewa County Sheriff's Office, a 911 call reporting the accident was received around 8:10 a.m. Deputies arrived to find a 2011 Buick Enclave, along with the bridge on County Road 4, on fire. The driver was identified as Harriet Payne.

The Sheriff's Office is investigating the accident. Also responding were the Swift County Sheriff's Office; Murdock fire, rescue and ambulance; Minnesota State Patrol; Chippewa County Highway Department; and the Chippewa County Coroner.
