Montevideo rumbles past LQPV, 71-56

MONTEVIDEO -- Montevideo won a shooting war against Lac qui Parle Valley in boys basketball action Friday.

The Thunder Hawks shot 58 percent (30 of 52) from the field en route to a 71-56 West Central South Conference victory over the Eagles.

Montevideo's steady shot-making wore down Lac qui Parle Valley in the second half, which led to the Thunder Hawks doubling their halftime lead of 38-31.

Ryan Boike scored 16 points, Jeff Jerve had 15 points and 10 rebounds, Eric Brandon added 14 points and Brett Bergeson 10 for Montevideo (3-1, 5-2).

Chase Keimig's 15 points paced Lac qui Parle Valley and Baxter DuFrane followed with 10.
