WILLMAR -- A theft was reported around 2 p.m. Friday from Grand Rental Station, 2309 E. Highway 12. The caller said someone took an item of rental property without paying for it.

NEW LONDON -- Tool theft was reported around 3:30 p.m. Friday from McBroom Construction, 21 First Ave. S.W. The caller indicated someone stole an air-powered post driver that had the numeral "4" stamped on it and a masking machine.

WILLMAR -- A burglary was reported around 6 p.m. Friday from the 6600 block of U.S. Highway 71 South. The caller indicated that two cordless drills and a router worth $250 were stolen from the caller's garage sometime during the last month.

WILLMAR -- A burglary was reported around 8 a.m. Sunday from the Bihi Shop of African Food, 212 Fifth St. S.W. According to the incident report, someone used a rock to break open the front door before stealing 100 $5-phone cards, some winter jackets and $60 from a damaged cash machine.

Property damage

WILLMAR -- Damage to a car was reported around 6:45 p.m. Saturday from Applebee's, 2901 First St. S. The caller indicated a car had been "keyed" sometime after 5:30 p.m. Saturday.

WILLMAR -- Graffiti was reported around 4:30 p.m. Friday from Rick's Schwinn and Sport Center, 320 Third St. S.W.

WILLMAR -- Graffiti was reported around 7 p.m. Saturday from the 1200 block of Dana Drive Southeast. The caller indicated graffiti was on a shed behind the reported location and had been there for the last 10 to 14 days.

WILLMAR -- Criminal property damage was reported around 7 p.m. Saturday from the 600 block of Pacific Avenue Southwest. The caller reported that the passenger window on his brown 1983 Chevy pickup was broken.


WILLMAR -- The assault of a 7-year-old boy was reported around 1:30 p.m. Saturday from the 400 block of Litchfield Avenue Southwest. The caller indicated her son had been assaulted Friday while riding on the school bus. A 17-year-old suspect has been apprehended and will face a fifth-degree assault charge.

WILLMAR -- Domestic assault was reported around 8:30 a.m. Sunday from a mobile home park on the 400 block of 30th Street Northwest. According to the incident report, a 33-year-old Willmar man was arrested after the assault.


WILLMAR -- Fraud was reported around 2:45 p.m. Friday from Heritage Bank, 3190 First St. S.W. An employee reported fraudulent charges to a client's checking account at the bank.

Fire calls

WILLMAR -- A fire was reported around 10:40 a.m. Saturday from an apartment complex on the 500 block of Lakeland Drive Southeast. Smoke coming from the complex's laundry room was reported. The smoke was caused by an overfilled dryer. The apartment complex was advised to clean its dryer vents.

SPICER -- A fire was called in around 11:45 a.m. Saturday from the 12900 block of 51st Street Northeast. The caller indicated that power at the residence had been out for an hour and smoke was coming from the home.

WILLMAR -- A fire was reported around 2 p.m. Saturday from the 1300 block of Dana Drive Southeast. According to the incident report, a lawnmower in the residence's backyard had caught fire.

WILLMAR -- A house fire was reported around 6:30 a.m. Sunday from the 1900 block of 19th Avenue Southwest. According to the incident report, the fire started in the garage and moved to the house. The Raymond and Pennock Fire Departments were called in for mutual aid. The departments were at the location until 9:15 a.m. A vehicle was also damaged in the fire. The residents were taken to a local hotel.
