Paintball shot to eye under investigation

SPICER -- The Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office is investigating an assault with a paintball gun after a 17-year-old was shot in the eye and treated at the emergency room of Rice Memorial Hospital.

According to incident reports, the sheriff's office was called around 11:45 p.m. Wednesday to respond. The incident happened in Spicer. The suspect is a 16-year-old individual.

Citizens warned to keep items secure

GRANITE FALLS -- Recent thefts in Wood Lake have officials from the Yellow Medicine County Sheriff's Office reminding citizens to keep their personal items secured.

According to a news release from the sheriff's office, thefts in Wood Lake have included that of a laptop, video camera, purses, drills from garages and other items.

Anyone with information about the two theft incidents is urged to call the sheriff's office at 320-564-2130. Anyone who sees or hears suspicious activity is also asked to report it to law enforcement.

Citizens are reminded to lock their homes, sheds, vehicles, tractors, trucks, gas tanks or any other item that could be stolen. The sheriff's office has received numerous complaints of items taken from unlocked vehicles.

Trail camera stolen

GRANITE FALLS -- The Yellow Medicine County Sheriff's office is asking anyone with information about a missing trail camera to contact the sheriff's office.

A Cuddyback brand trail camera was reported missing on Monday from Section 25 of Normania Township. The owner believed that the camera, that was green and screwed to a tree, was taken between Aug. 31 and Sept. 7.

Property damage

WILLMAR -- Slashed vehicle tires were reported around 3 a.m. Thursday in the 400 15th Street Southwest.

Shoplifters

WILLMAR -- A 19-year-old Willmar man was cited for shoplifting around 4:55 p.m. Wednesday at Cub Foods, 2201 First St. S.

WILLMAR -- Two Willmar women, ages 42 and 68, were citied for shoplifting around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at K-Mart, 1605 First St. S.

WILLMAR -- An 18-year-old Willmar woman was cited for shoplifting around 8:15 p.m. Wednesday at Cash Wise Foods, 1300 Fifth St. S.

Arrests

WILLMAR -- A 24-year-old Renville man was arrested for driving after suspension around 1:15 a.m. Thursday near the intersection of U.S. Highway 12 and state Highway 40.

WILLMAR -- A 19-year-old Granite Falls man was arrested for driving while impaired, underage consumption and failure to keep right around 1:15 a.m. Thursday near the intersection of state Highway 23 and County Road 5.

WILLMAR -- A 24-year-old Belgrade man was arrested on a Department of Corrections warrant and for giving a false name to a peace officer around 3:25 a.m. Thursday near the intersection of Fifth Street and Willmar Avenue Southwest.
