Morris man critically injured in Clontarf, Minn., crash

CLONTARF -- A 34-year-old Morris man was critically injured in a one-vehicle crash around 10:10 p.m. Thursday along State Highway 9 and Grace Avenue in Clontarf.

According to the State Patrol, the man, whose name was not released, was a passenger in a 1999 Ford Explorer driven by Erique Corona Contreras, 28, of Long Prairie. The vehicle was southbound on Highway 9, crossed the northbound lane and entered the ditch.

Corona Contreras was treated and released at Swift County-Benson Hospital and the passenger was taken to St. Cloud Hospital, where he is in critical condition.

Alcohol was detected in both men, according to the State Patrol.

Also responding to the crash were the Benson Police Department and the Swift County Sheriff's Office.
