Morris repels late Paynesville rally

PAYNESVILLE -- Morris held off a five-run Paynesville rally to hand the Bulldogs a 9-8 loss in West Central South Conference baseball action Tuesday.

The Bulldogs (13-3, 14-4) trailed 9-3 entering the bottom of the seventh and scored three runs on a home run by Nathan Nietfeld.

The Tigers (9-6, 10-9) took a 2-0 lead on a two-run homer from Chris Boettcher to left field and scored another run later for a 3-0 lead. Paynesville tied the game with three runs in the third.
