Morris/CA pounds on Paynesville, ties up WCS

PAYNESVILLE -- Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta improved to 9-1 in West Central South Conference girls basketball race with a 61-29 win over Paynesville Monday.

The Tigers, who are 15-2 overall, are now tied with Minnewaska Area for the top spot in the league.

The Tigers defense was stout, holding the Bulldogs to 10 field goals. Morris/CA also kept Paynesville from collecting too many free-throw opportunities by committing only seven fouls.
