Most Minn. post offices shortening July 3 hours
MINNEAPOLIS -- Post offices across most of Minnesota will be open Friday but many will shorten their retail lobby hours and close by noon.
According to a news release, regular mail delivery for July 3 will be unaffected, but many post offices will shorten their hours Friday and close at noon. Access to post office boxes also may not be available Friday afternoon for those post offices closing early.
The U.S. Postal Service will post the revised hours at each post office location. Customers may call 1-800-ASK-USPS about a specific post office and its revised hours.
Those customers needing to use bulk mail acceptance units or blue collection mailboxes should contact their local postmaster about collection hours.
Post offices will be closed July 4. Regular post office hours and mail delivery will resume July 6.
