WILLMAR -- The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency was called to investigate possible environmental issues as a result of a fire Tuesday at Rohner's Auto Parts that destroyed 72 vehicles and 20 acres of grass.

MPCA officials were at the auto salvage business, located north of Willmar, on Thursday afternoon. No other information was available regarding the investigation, but an employee at Rohner's said Friday that everything had been cleaned up.

The fire was reported on Rohner's property, 1800 County Road 27, at around 4 p.m. on Tuesday.

The Pennock Fire Department responded and mutual aid was provided by the Willmar and Spicer Fire Departments. It's not known yet how the fire started, said Chuck Diederich, from the Pennock Fire Department.

Fire trucks were able to refill their tanks by using a dry hydrant located in the Lake Florida slough. That eliminated trucks from traveling back to their communities to get additional water, he said.
