Multi-vehicle accident closes Hwy 71 north of Willmar

A multi-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 71 north of Willmar about 5 p.m. Thursday has temporarily closed the highway.
The accident occurred near the Monson gravel pit, located about one mile north of the intersection of U.S. Highway 71 and Kandiyohi County 29.
Four vehicles were involved in the accident -- a motorcycle, a truck carrying farm equipment and two cars. No further accident or injury details are available at this time.
Traffic was detoured to the west around the accident scene.
The Minnesota State Patrol is in charge of the accident scene.
