OLIVIA -- Muriel Elizabeth Baumgartner, 95, of Olivia, died Thursday at the Renville County Hospital in Olivia.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bird Island. Burial will be in St. Aloysius Cemetery in Olivia.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Dirks-Blem Funeral Home in Olivia, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. and from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday.
She was born Dec. 15, 1910, in Bird Island to Henry and Margaret (Keltgen) Rauenhorst. She attended St. Mary's High School in Bird Island and St. Mary's Hospital of Nursing in Minneapolis. She worked in Minneapolis.
She married Firmin Baumgartner in Gas City, Ind., on Sept. 9, 1936. They farmed in rural Bird Island than bought a farm in rural Olivia. She moved to Olivia in 1964 after Firmin died.
She was a nurse at the Renville County Hospital for many years. She was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church and the study club.
She is survived by her children, Margaret (and Richard) Love of Minneapolis, Jean (and Ken) Kupsen of Olivia, Firmin Baumgartner of Boise, Idaho, Susan (and Jim) Groehler of Inver Grove Heights, Michael Baumgartner of Olivia, John (and Cathy) Baumgartner of Olivia, Charles (and Toni) Baumgarnter of Olivia; daughter-in-law, Arlene Baumgartner of Olivia; 25 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and brother Gerald (and Henrietta) Rauenhorst of Edina.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Joseph; an infant daughter, Mary Catherine; one great-grandson and six brothers.
