Muriel Jenson Sept. 28, 1922 - July 8, 2013

WILLMAR - Muriel “LaVone” Jenson, 90, of Willmar, formerly of Paynesville, died Monday, July 8th at Bethesda Pleasantview in Willmar. Her funeral will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, July 13th at Calvary Baptist Church in Paynesville. Burial will be in Burbank Cemetery, rural Belgrade. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Arrangements are with Johnson Funeral Home in Paynesville. www.hafh.org

LaVone was born on September 28, 1922, in Willmar, Minnesota, the daughter of Walter and Bernice (Bjur) Jorgenson. She grew up in Willmar, attended Lafayette Elementary School and graduated from Willmar High School in 1940. On August 8, 1942, she was united in marriage to Arvid Ellingson. They lived in Regal and Pennock before Arvid’s death in 1948. On December 14, 1951, she was united in marriage to Clarence Ellingson, Arvid’s brother. Clarence also preceded LaVone in death.

On June 17, 1972, LaVone was united marriage to Wesley Jenson at the New London Free Church. Following their marriage, they lived in Belgrade before settling in Paynesville after Wes’ retirement. Wes preceded her in death on June 17, 2006.

She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Paynesville where she was a Sunday school teacher and deaconess.

Surviving are her children, Sharon Johnson of Phoenix, AZ; Pastor Lowell (and Hania) Ellingson of Spokane, WA; Larry (and Rose) Ellingson of Chandler, AZ; step-children, Wes (and Lisa) Jenson Jr. of Marshall and Rochelle Butcher of Paynesville; 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren. Also surviving are her siblings, Delores Emberland of Willmar; Elaine (and Ed) Meshiry of LaVerne, CA and Pastor Rodger (and Helen) Jorgenson of Rockton, IL.

Besides her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Marvis Wilger and brothers, Derald and Ronald.
