Myrle Farmer July 29, 1913 - Sept. 22, 2008
MADISON -- Myrle Evelyn Farmer, 95, of Madison, died Monday at the Madison Lutheran Home.
The service will be at 10 a.m. on Friday at the Madison Lutheran Home Chapel.
Visitation will be Thursday afternoon, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at the Zahrbock Funeral Chapel in Madison.
She was born July 29, 1913, in Madison to Evert and Gertrude (Twist) Powelson. She attended country school at District 96 and graduated from Marietta High School in 1931.
She married Robert Farmer on Sept. 17, 1933. They farmed and raised their family until they retired in 1979 and moved to Marietta. For the past 10 years, she lived at Hilltop Apartments and the Madison Lutheran Home. She was a member of the UCC Church of Marietta, women's study club, birthday clubs and a homemakers club.
She is survived by her children: Larry (and Sonja) Farmer of Marietta, Don (and Rhonda) Farmer of Revillo, S.D. and Patty Schuelke of Nassau; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister: Carol Carroll of Jacksonville, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her husband; son: Jim Farmer, two sisters; and a son-in-law: Andrew Schuelke.
