ND Bobcat workers to return to work Monday
GWINNER, N.D. (AP) - Bobcat Co. workers are ready to go back to work.
Workers at the company's plants in Bismarck and Gwinner have been laid off for about eight weeks because of slow sales. They are scheduled to return to work Monday for the first time since mid-December.
The company said the shutdown would give dealers a chance to move inventory to clear the way for more machines.
Travis Swanson is the vice president of United Steelworkers Union Local 560 in Gwinner. He said a general production meeting was held Thursday to go over the numbers, and workers are preparing to return to their jobs.
West Fargo-based Bobcat makes skid-steer loaders, mini-track loaders and utility work machines.
