A North Dakota Republican Party statement says Hoeven will disclose his plans at a district convention of Bismarck Republican organizations tonight. Hoeven plans to speak at about 6 p.m.

The 52-year-old Hoeven is in his third term as governor. He was last elected in 2008 with more than 70 percent of the vote.

North Dakota Republicans are expecting Hoeven will run. They think Hoeven has an excellent chance at becoming the first Republican member of North Dakota's congressional delegation in 24 years.

The other two members are Sen. Kent Conrad and Rep. Earl Pomeroy.
