WAHPETON, N.D. -- Ridgewater College got 21 points from Marcus Smith and 12 from Larry Player but it wasn't enough to keep pace with North Dakota State College of Science on Wednesday.

The Division I junior college whipped the Warriors 99-83 in a non-conference clash.

Ridgewater led 44-43 at half, after trailing by as much as 11 in the first 20 minutes.

"We played together," said coach Shawn Kopischke. "Much better than the game before. They're a very good team."

The Warriors shot 49 percent on 33 of 67 field goal attempts. Preston Looman followed with nine points, Jake Meyers and Dante Bogard with seven each.

Ridgewater dropped to 1-4 with Vermilion College at Willmar on Friday night.

NDSCS placed five in double figures led by Tom Dryburgh with 18. The Wildcats made 38 of 70 shots. They outscored the visitors 56-39 post-intermission.
