New Holiday Inn Express to open in December
WILLMAR — Torgerson Properties will be opening its new Holiday Inn Express and Suites in early December, the company announced on Friday.
It will mark the completion of the first phase of a multimillion-dollar hotel and convention renovation at the site near the intersection of U.S. Highway 12 East and 23st Street S.E. in Willmar.
The three-story Holiday Inn Express hotel will offer 73 guest rooms, including 22 spacious suites, according to the company. The location was formerly a Comfort Inn.
The new Holiday Inn Express hotels are designed for value-conscious business and leisure travelers, according to Mitch Peterson, president of Torgerson Properties.
With more than 2,000 properties worldwide and more than 600 properties in the pipeline, the Holiday Inn Express portfolio continues to expand in markets like Willmar, he stated.
The company is also remodeling the current Holiday Inn into a Best Western Plus, with expectations of its completion in the spring of 2014.
It will also remodel the existing Conference Center this spring, and renovate the Green Mill restaurant and add a new Ruff’s Wings and Sports Bar. Both restaurants will include outdoor seating areas.
The Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Willmar is one of four hotels owned and operated by Torgerson Properties in the Willmar area.
