NEW LONDON -- In a quick response to the deaths last week of two teenagers, a community forum will be this Sunday at the New London-Spicer High School.

In an announcement made today, NLS Superintendent Paul Carlson said the public forum will be at 6 p.m. Sunday in the high school gym.

Everyone is welcome to attend the forum, which will include a speaker and small group discussions lead by mental health facilitators.

The event was organized by the newly created community mental health task force.

The purpose of the forum is to "impart factual information" about mental health and suicide, said Carlson.

The task force, which was created after the suicides of two youth were reported, will likely be a long-term committee that will involve more people and more issues, said Carlson.
