Reinarts scored from the right circle moments after New Ulm goalie Justin Wiggens stopped an assault by the Cardinals' Landon Baker after a half-ice rush.

The Eagles outshot Willmar 30-28, including 18-7 in the third frame.

Reinarts' shot sailed over the glove of Willmar goalie Ben Leitch, who rejected 17 shots in the third period.

Willmar's attempt at a comeback in the closing minutes was thwarted by a double-minor at 14:01.

Liam Johnston scored both Willmar goals, the first slapping in a rebound after a point shot by Jake Sobieck tied the score 1-1. His second goal came while sliding across the crease with the assist to Grant Schow made it 2-all.

After a 2-0 start, Willmar scored just twice in six periods while loosing twice in less than 24 hours.
