NLS falls to Foley

SPICER -- Foley scored twice in the final five minutes to rally past New London-Spicer 38-24 in a West Central North Conference game Wednesday night.

NLS (5-2, 6-2) led 24-23 before Jeremy Weber scored on a one-yard run with 5:16 remaining in the game. Foley elected to go for two points and Weber caught the conversaion pass from Justin Wennerberg to give the Falcons a 31-24 lead.

Foley got the ball back and Wennerberg scored from a yard out for the final margin.

NLS' Luke Peterson returned the opening kickoff 81 yards for a touchdown, but Foley responded with a 76-yard scoring pass from Wennerberg to Kris Olson to make it 7-7.

Foley had 449 yards of total offense to 219 for the Wildcats.

In the second quarter, Shawn Halliday scored on a five-yard run and Caleb Friedrich booted a 22-yard field goal for NLS. Taylor Dammermann caught a 12-yard touchdown pass from Jared Williamson in the third quarter.
