NLS issues cabling bid and wiring for all sites
NEW LONDON -- The New London-Spicer School board approved a $163,038 bid from All State Communication of Sauk Rapids to upgrade networking cable in the district's school buildings this summer.
The bid includes running cable for data and voice systems at the high school, middle school and Prairie Woods Elementary, according to Superintendent Paul Carlson.
The work, approved at the bo-ard's regular me-eting, is part of the district's te-chnology impro-vements funded by the $1.5 million in technology levy funding approved by district voters in the November election.
The new cable will replace wires that were installed in 1993, Carlson said.
The other technology improvements planned for the summer include installing 58 white boards, so that each classroom has that technology, installing amplification systems in classrooms and issuing iPads to teachers so they can learn how to use the technology and work on lesson plans that include the devices.
