NEW LONDON -- Defending Class AAA champion New London-Spicer scored 20 straight points to clip Morris 20-14 in the season-opening football game for both teams Friday night.


The Wildcats trailed 7-0 after Ryan Beyer connected on a 37-yard pass play to Cody Cannon for a touchdown with eight seconds left in the first quarter.
