The Dragons, who got the No. 4 seed Sunday in the boys Class AA state tournament, will tip-off with Watertown-Mayer (28-2) at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Target Center in Minneapolis. The Royals exited the Wright County only last year and played a non-conference game at Litchfield on Jan. 24 losing 63-50.

In the early game at the Target, unseeded Worthington (21-6) meets No. 1 seed Perham (27-2). Worthington lost to Perham 64-52 in a holiday tournament in Marshall but signs point to the Trojans being a different team later in the season when they crushed Redwood Valley for the 3AA title after losing twice to the Cardinals in the regular season.

In first-day matchups at Williams Arena, No. 2 St. Peter (28-1) plays Plainville-Elgin-Millville (24-6) and No. 3 Braham (29-1) meets St. Croix Lutheran (24-6).

The first round is one-and-done; Wednesday's winners advance to Friday's semifinals at Target Center
