No injuries, "all clear" issued in Olivia, Minn., as gas leak repaired

OLIVIA -- The Olivia Police Department was able to give the "all clear'' shortly after 4 p.m., or about an hour after evacuating the northwest corner of the community this afternoon due to a report of a gas leak, according to information from the Renville County Sheriff's Department.

The evacuation included residents of the Golden Living Center nursing facility.

There were no reports of injuries, and utility workers were able to repair the problem.

Ninth Street North in Olivia had remained open, but police directed people away from cross streets in the area.

Olivia Police, Olivia Ambulance Service and Olivia Fire Departments were on scene, along with the Renville Co. Sheriff's Office.
