Northwoods Baseball: Suchy wins it for Stingers

WILLMAR -- Michael Suchy hit a walk-off, 14th-inning home run to lead the Willmar Stingers to their seventh straight win on Friday at Bill Taunton Stadium.

Suchy connected off Rochester pitcher Reid Roper and the Stingers won 7-6.

The Stingers are 15-9 overall and have won nine of their last 10 games. They are three games behind Mankato.

After closing a two-game set against Rochester at 3:05 p.m. today, the Stingers travel to Mankato to begin at three-game series with the MoonDogs at 6:05 p.m. Sunday. The third game of the series will be played in Willmar at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday.

Trailing 5-3 in the bottom of the ninth, the Stingers scored two runs to force extra innings on Suchy's RBI-groundout and a Corben Green RBI-single.
