Northwoods League sets attendance record
Nearly 75 percent of the teams in the Northwoods League set attendance records this season as the summer collegiate baseball league totaled 901,652 fans.
The Willmar Stingers were one of 11 teams that increased their attendance from last year after having an impressive inaugural season in 2010. The Stingers drew 32,730 fans this season, an average of about 935 a game.
The Madison (Wis.) Mallards set two league records this year by having a total attendance of 213,467 fans with an average of 6,278.
