SPICER -- Grant Johnson hit a two-run homer in the fifth inning and Norway Lake-Sunburg edged New London-Spicer 7-6 in a Cornbelt North Division playoff game on Sunday.


New London-Spicer outhit the Lakers 10-6, but made three errors and two Twins hurlers combined for eight walks.

Jared Johnson had two hits for NL-Sunburg.

Scott Rambow went 4-for-5, including a pair of doubles, and drove in a run for the Twins. Austen Hadley had two hits and two RBI. Mike Thompson had a two-run double.

Chris Braaten went the distance for the win for the Lakers. He walked four and struck out six. Darren Ogdahl took the loss.

Starbuck 7, Atwater 6

Matt Daniels walked with the bases loaded and one out in the bottom of the 12th inning, giving Starbuck the win.

Atwater had runners on second and third with two outs in the top of the 12th and tried to score on a passed ball, but the runner was thrown out.

In Starbuck's half of the 12th, Kevin Mahoney hit a single and Zach Lagred followed with a double. Mike Andreas was then intentionally walked to load the bases. Daniels drew a walk on a 3-2 pitch.

Mahoney finished 3-for-5 and Chad Andreas was 3-for-6. Lagred and Mike Andreas had two hits and two RBI each.

Jon Hoffman pitched 11 innings for Starbuck before giving way to Nate Sutton in the 12th.

Jeff Peterson, Zach Cunningham and Vance Martin had two hits apiece for the Chuckers.
