In 2007, 64 percent of all foreclosures occurred in the seven-county metro area, according to Heritage Bank Vice President Duaine Amundson.

He said 19 percent occurred in 10 counties (Wright, Sherburne, Stearns, St. Louis, Olmstead, Isanti, Chisago, Rice, Crow Wing and Mille Lacs), and 17 percent occurred in the remaining 70 counties (including Kandiyohi County). Amundson said Kandiyohi County ranked 54th in foreclosures. The county has had 53 foreclosures to date and is projected to have 76 in 2008 compared with 72 for 2007. Overall, county foreclosures this year projected to represent .4 percent of all homesteads with about .9 percent in Greater Minnesota, about 1.4 percent in the state and 1.8 percent in the Twin Cities.
