ST. PAUL -- The Minnesota Department of Agriculture invites farmers to hear about the latest research and techniques at the Nutrient Efficiency and Management Conference set from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 15 at the Jackpot Junction Casino Hotel in Morton.
The conference will bring together agricultural vendors, growers, extension specialists, crop advisers, research-ers, government officials.
Nutrient efficiency will be the focus. With volatile fertilizer prices and increased commodity prices, this will be an excellent opportunity to hear from experts and network with others.
Topics will include basics of soil phosphorous, soil test interpretation, evaluation of fertilizer additives, drainage technology research, nutrient and water quality research, high production efficiency and limits on banded fertilizer. A farmer and crop consultant panel will provide discussion about innovatiion on farm nutrient management. A variety of other topics and information will be available through displays.
