Fifty-one-year-old Carlos Colorado is charged in Ramsey County District Court with criminal vehicular homicide. He's accused of killing 16-year-old Clarisse Grime as she sat on a grassy embankment waiting for a bus with her boyfriend last July.

Police Sgt. Greg Gravesen testified Monday his accident reconstruction shows Colorado tried accelerating up the embankment after hitting Grime, but slipped back down because of a flat tire.

Defense attorney, Alberto Miera, reportedly told a judge Colorado felt numbness in his leg and arm just before the crash, tried to brake, but accelerated instead.
