Officials from the Minnesota Department of Public Safety, the National Weather Service and the Federal Emergency Management Agency will meet with reporters today. They will discuss what Minnesotans should be doing to get ready for flooding, including considering purchasing flood insurance.

Minnesota could see flooding this spring because of the wet fall and heavy winter snow. The National Weather Service is updating its spring flood forecast for the Red, Minnesota, Mississippi and St. Croix rivers.

Officials say people living in those areas should know the risks and start planning now.
