Olivia man pleads to drug sale charges
WILLMAR -- Idulfo Zavala, 30, of Olivia, pleaded guilty Thursday to two felony second-degree drug sale charges for selling prescription narcotics to a CEE-VI Drug Task Force informant in October and November.
As part of a plea agr-eement for drug cases in both Ka-ndiyohi Co-unty and Renville Co-unty district courts, Za-vala also pleaded guilty to a third-degree drug sale count and a charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm in Renville County.
The plea agreement notes that he will receive a sentence of 67 months in prison. Zavala will be sentenced June 13 in Kandiyohi County District Court.
Zavala and Karyl Jean Mooney, 45, of Bird Island, were charged in connection to the drug sales. Mooney was sentenced March 16 to 90 days in jail, $1,500 in fines and 15 years of probation on three felony charges of fourth-degree drug sale and possession.
The charges were filed after Zavala sold 65 Adderall pills, which contain amphetamine and are a Schedule II narcotic, to the informant on Oct. 20 and sold 217 hydrocodone pills, which are a Schedule III narcotic, to the same informant on seven occasions between Oct. 27 and Nov. 10.
The informant positively identified Zavala by a booking photo from Renville County law enforcement.
