One person dead in crash at County Roads 10 and 4

WILLMAR -- The driver of a vehicle involved in a crash around 9:15 a.m. this morning died at the scene of the crash at County Roads 10 and 4 east of Spicer.

According to Kandiyohi County Sheriff Dan Hartog, the name of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of relatives. A passenger in the vehicle, Tove Sleppen, 51, from Norway, was transported by air ambulance to Hennepin County Medical Center. Her condition was unknown.

The deceased was driving a Ford Focus that was southbound on County Road 4. The driver of the other vehicle in the crash, a Chevy Silverado pickup that was westbound on County Road 10, Randy Twardy, 51, of Eden Valley, was not transported by ambulance for medical attention.

Also responding were the Spicer First Responders and Fire Department, New London Ambulance, Kandiyohi County Rescue Squad and the State Patrol.
