One Willmar resident dead, one hurt in rollover
GROVE CITY -- A 22-year-old Willmar woman died and a 32-year-old Willmar man was injured in a one-car rollover about 7 miles north of Grove City early Sunday morning, the Meeker County Sheriff's Office said.
The crash was reported to the sheriff's office at 2:59 a.m. and happened on Meeker County Road 3, just west of state Highway 7, in Union Grove Township.
Meeker County deputies, Minnesota State Patrol, Grove City Rescue, Grove City Fire, Paynesville Ambulance and North Memorial Helicopter were dispatched to and assisted at the scene.
Upon arrival, units located a 2002 Lincoln 4-door car that had rolled over, was on its roof with the man trapped inside. The woman had been ejected and was found in a field near the car. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Grove City Fire and Rescue removed the male from the vehicle and he was flown by helicopter to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale where he remains in the intensive care unit.
The names of the victims are not being released until family members are notified.
The Meeker County Sheriff's Office is investigating the crash.
